My students need activity tables to enable small group collaborative activities. They will facilitate good communication, collaborative problem solving, and peer interaction opportunities.
First graders are inquisitive, creative, and awe-inspiring! They are active and engaged learners in a variety of situations, whether it be in whole group, small group, or partner settings. Students benefit from an environment which includes opportunities to access content in different ways, including through listening/speaking, using manipulative materials, reading for information or pleasure, or working alone or in groups.
First graders should have opportunities to persevere, solve problems, use appropriate strategies, and apply what they have learned in more global situations.
They need to learn from their mistakes, try new things, and be able to communicate their solutions and meanings to others.
My Project
These ECR4Kids 60 inch flower activity tables will enable 6 students to work together on a variety of activities across all content areas. Our current table configuration only allows pairs to work together. Students will be able to work on like-activities or individual activities, with the ability to communicate more effectively with less noise, and to share materials and resources more efficiently.
This resource will allow students to work collaboratively to solve problems, assist each other across content areas, improve communication, and engage in social emotional responses to their peers, helping to meet the goal of whole-child learning in my classroom.
