Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our classroom is a family that consists of thirty-eight eager-to-learn Kindergarten students in a Title I school in Houston, Texas in which all of the students receive free lunch.
The majority of my students come from single-parent households in which they struggle to make ends meet, but despite their difficulties, they always come into our classroom with smiles, eager to learn.
I want to provide my students with unique learning experiences in and out of our classroom that they can carry through life.
Many of my students and their families were affected by hurricane Harvey and I am trying to make them feel welcomed and secure in my classroom. I also want them to feel like their world is going back to normal after such a tragic event.
My Project
My students kindergarten graduation ceremony is approaching, and I want them to be able to have a keepsake from their kindergarten graduation. Therefore the graduation cap and gown is going to be used for the students to wear and to take a picture that they are going to give to their parents on their graduation ceremony.
I want my students to feel welcome and eager to learn in my classroom.
The colorful border and welcome pendant is going to be used to decorate the bulletin boards in my classroom, so that students have a fun and engaging classroom environment.
The hanging decorations are also going to be used to decorate the classroom and that way students will feel happy and eager to learn.
