My students are dreamers, problem solvers, and likely the most creative little people you will ever meet.
They are a happy group of first graders who love school and love to learn.
One hundred percent of our school qualifies for free breakfast and lunch, yet they don't let hardships stand in their way. My students' economic situations are just as varied as are their family dynamics. We have military families with a local National Guard unit in our area and an Air Force base close by. We aim to take good care of our military families. Our district includes an Indian Reservation and we have a high population of Hispanic students, many of whom have family members who work in the agricultural industry. It is so rewarding to teach, whether I am helping a gifted student learn, one coping with ADHD learn, or anything in between. I feel like I have the best job ever!
My Project
My first graders have lunch at 10:45 am, so they are in need of a snack in the afternoon. Please consider helping us get some snacks that I can give them in the afternoon. Some children are in need of a snack to take home, too, so some snacks will be used for that purpose as well.
Children need snacks to keep their busy bodies and minds going.
Healthy snacking can help kids get important nutrients, make up for skipped meals and provide necessary fuel for learning. The chips, cookies, and fruit snacks will go a long way to help my students. Sometimes a child needs a snack to take home. I never want a student to go hungry or wonder where there next meal will come from. I know that children have a better chance of focusing and learning when their tummies are feeling fulfilled.
