This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are AMAZING! My students all live in a low socioeconomic neighborhood, and receive free lunch. To keep students engaged in my lessons, I practice a more hands-on approach to learning. My strategies are engaging, and students look forward to coming to school each day; excited to see what I have up my sleeves for the daily lesson. Many of them come into the classroom with the weight of the world resting on their shoulders at such a young age. My goal each day is for them to forget about their problems, and help them fall in love with learning.
My Project
My students need pencils, crayons, paper, composition notebooks and markers for class. We are just about half-way through the school year and our supplies are severely limited. We have run out of most supplies that students need on a daily basis such as pencils, eraser and glue sticks, etc.
We need replenishment to start the year strong.
Our classroom needs replenishment of supplies in order to make it until May and not have to have the students go out and buy their own supplies. We also need some new supplies such as erasers, glue sticks, colored pencils, and scissors in order for the students to have all that is necessary to complete their daily classwork and projects.
