My students need a "WELCOME BACK!" --Pack for next school year: a clear backpack for promoting a safe atmosphere and a mini-edition of "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" for promoting positive habits of mind.
My students are motivated students who are taking Advanced Placement Literature and Composition or Spanish to meet their future goals. These goals include meeting university entrance requirements, traveling to other countries, understanding other cultural perspectives, making new friends, and increasing future job opportunities.
My students are inquisitive, have a strong work ethic, and love to be creative and kind!
As a teacher in a low socioeconomic area, I am trying to provide students with the support to meet their future goals. By engaging students with a very wide range of learning opportunities, it not only enhances their desire to learn but also gets them excited about their future with the language!
My Project
As students return to school next fall, I would like to be able to give students a "WELCOME BACK!"--Pack for the 2018-2019 school year to aid in their self-management and responsible decision-making. To promote school safety, our high school has moved toward requiring a clear backpack if you want to carry a backpack to classes. Some students have the ability to purchase their own clear backpack. Some students who do not have Amazon Prime or the financial means--do not have access to clear backpacks in our area.
7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens promotes positive habits of mind in students and clear backpacks promote student safety and student organization.
Combining the two in a "WELCOME BACK!"--Pack promotes a positive and safe school atmosphere and encourages students to develop healthy habits of mind! Self-management and responsible decision-making are core competencies in Social and Emotional Learning.
