My Students

My students are eighth and ninth grade resource students, but they read on much lower levels. They want to engage in the curriculum, but with low level reading skills, it is often very difficult for them. This grant provides our kids with some very needed materials for engagement.

My students are Special Education Resource Science kids.

Our school is 70% free and reduced lunch, and our kids do not have a great many resources to draw upon outside of school. This grant helps us to make better connections with each student. We are located in Fayetteville, Arkansas - WOOO Pig Sooie as we say here. We have a deep love and spirit for all of our Special Needs children.

My Project

I am requesting materials that will enable me to enhance the instruction through manipulatives. These materials will allow the students to really put their hands on the concepts that often times are very abstract and difficult. Resource kids need to be able to have tangibles in order to have the best chance of understanding.

The broadest impact that donors choice is making for me and my kids is the availability to really get their minds wrapped around the science concepts taught, to have fun while learning, and to be appreciative of others giving to us.

The students will be taught to give back. It's a great thing.
