My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, I see that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many obstacles they face, school should be a safe place where they are free to be creative and focus on learning.

These first graders are smart, enthusiastic and love to create with their hands.

These students deserve the very best that the education world has to offer. In our classroom, we care and encourage one another to be our best.

My Project

These young scientist need hands-on materials to help them understand how these complex concepts work. We would like to have a see-through plant stand that would allow students to observe what happens underground and view all of their parts in real life. We are also in need of butterfly home, where we can harvest larvae and witness each stage of its life cycle.

First graders need to touch, manipulate, discuss and reconstruct the life cycle of the butterfly and plants to help them truly understand how they work.

Having these experiences will allow us to connect to our world in a deeper way. We are excited about learning with all of our senses!
