This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school strives to find the academic best in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.

My class for this year consists of around 50 amazing students.

Of those, three receive resource gifted services, and three are in behavior modification . They all have a think win-win attitude and do their personal best to contribute to our classroom community.

My Project

I am a regular education teacher. I have students mainstreamed in my classroom that have sensory problems or issues. I would like for these students to be able to overcome these problems and learn to their fullest potential. Therefore, I did research to find out what can be done to keep these students in regular education classes. They are removed for portions of the day because of the disruptions to others trying to learn. I found that weighted vest will calm these students and allow them more time in the regular education environment. I can see the potential in these students that CAN read and write. I simply want to provide the best for ALL students. I even believe that the forty-seven students with out problems will also learn about problem solving personal issues with this project. Will you help?
