My Students

My students attend school in an inner city Title I School District. Our school has had funds reduced every year. This has taken a huge toll on everyone; students and teachers alike. I have purchased a lot of supplies on my own, but I need help with some of the other items that can be beneficial to my students.

We do a lot of hands-on learning in sixth grade and having the right tools is crucial.

I would like my students to be able to experience things inside the classroom other than worksheets and videos.

Watching someone else do an experiment is not only boring, but the students get little, to nothing, from it. By donating to my class you are allowing my students to learn inside the classroom in an authentic experience. When they have fun, they remember things better and longer.

My Project

My class loves to do hands-on activities, but unfortunately, we don't always have the supplies to do things. I am in need of scales so my students can expand their knowledge within the classroom. Normally I have to borrow supplies, if I can even find them. By having a class set of scales I can plan exciting labs for my classroom knowing they will have the supplies needed to deepen their knowledge. I will no longer have to search, borrow, and beg for the things my students need to accomplish a task during science, because we will have our own supplies to get the job done.
