I teach from a world perspective so even my third graders strive to know more about our world

Since I involve more than just text books for students I need to be able to open the kids eyes to their world by using all the resources I can. This makes for a rich classroom environment, thus rich students.

I would like to include the weekly Reader books to my list of resources to the classroom. I show video, photos, use news papers, etc to bring the world to my kids. So it's only natural that we should have the variety and scope that the Weekly Reader series provides for our class.

I have several low readers in the class. So there is a lot that they miss out on because most text and news is written for a higher reading level. The Weekly Reader is perfect for the third grade reader because it's rich in visuals as well as text so it really encourages some of my struggling readers to read more!
