I am a teacher in a 12:1:1 Bilingual Special Education class in the northern area of the Bronx. My students function between a K-2 grade level. They are the age of most 7-8 graders, but due to their global delays in all areas, most of my students are not reading. I would like to add the Weekly Reader publication to our classroom to promote reading. I would like to purchase the Weekly Reader on several reading/grade levels and in English and Spanish in order to meet the diversity of my students' learning needs. I believe that the small size of the Weekly Reader along with the colorful photographs and interesting subjects (animals, insects, countries, etc.) will interest the students in reading. I believe that the students will benefit from these readers to improve their reading abilities. I would appreciate your help in purchasing the Weekly Reader on various levels and in two languages--English and Spanish. Thank you for your willingness to improve literacy!
