Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I have a wonderful class of 23 energetic first graders. I teach at a high poverty school in a rural area with a high percentage of Hispanic students.

Since our school is high poverty, we are not able to purchase Weekly Reader or Time for Kids for our classrooms. My students would love to have these weekly magazines that they could call their own to take home and share with other members of their families after we have used them in class for science and social studies.

We need 23 copies of Weekly Reader Magazine and Time for Kids to help teach our students both Science and Social Studies skills. The articles in these magazines will bring new experiences and vibrant images to students that seldom are able to travel or hear about different places and things around the world.

Your funding of this project would bring an outside world to my students. They would be able to experience and learn about so many things around the world that are outside of our small community.
