My Students

My students come from a variety of backgrounds with different experiences that influence who they are becoming. Each student brings unique qualities to our classroom that enriches our learning community and brings our classroom to life.

One thing all my students share, is a love for learning.

My students come each day interested and full of questions about the world. They are curious and determined to solve problems, connect their learning to the world, and empower and support each other. My job is to expand their knowledge and dig deeper with the content to help strengthen their future opportunities.

My Project

WeDo Lego kits will allow my students to be engaged in hands on learning that connects to the curriculum of multiple subjects. The students will be able to use the kits to construct solutions to problems while also learning how to code and create an interaction to their solution. Students can create a spacecraft to travel to the moon and code their robot, Milo, to complete the space travel all while learning about the world beyond our planet in their science unit.

The Lego WeDo kits fit perfectly with the STEAM curriculum implemented in my classroom because it engages my students and challenges their thinking.

Each time students interact with the kits they will be involved in brainstorming solutions, planning outcomes, and collaborating with others to bring their thinking to life. Teams of students will have to communicate and create their ideas and outcomes can be as unique and as different as the groups.
