I am a K-5 art teacher at an elementary school in Fall River, MA. I see about 600 students a week in the art room! Many of my students are English Language Learners, and many of them have immigrated to the United States this year. These students work hard every single day, many have outstanding attendance and actually LOVE coming to school. They deserve to have the best materials and resources, because school is the only place that most of them are exposed to art!
In the art room, I am always looking for new ways to get my students engaged and excited about learning and creating!
I am hoping to continue to grow our classroom supplies in order to inspire exciting lessons and creations!
My Project
Every year a 4th grade favorite in my art classroom is weaving! The students create looms out of cardboard and create mini weavings. They look forward to starting this project every year, and they are mesmerized by what they create!
I would love to have looms in our classroom for students to be able to create collaborative weavings and enjoy the process together!
These looms would be perfect for introducing weaving to students and would be a great option for early finishers to contribute to a larger project.
Our provided supply list does not include yarn, and we have been fortunate enough to receive some donations, but our color choices are limited, and these skeins would provide students with the choices of every color of the rainbow! WEAVE got to have them!
