My Students

Every scholar that I teach loves books! We have so many wonderful art in books that the kids should have access to! Right now we don't have an ideal way to display the books so that they can be properly utilized in art class. The shelf that we have is too high for our smaller scholars.

BVP Mayoral Academy is a network of tuition-free public schools chartered by the BVP Island Department of Education.

As a growing network of schools, BVP offers a high quality public school choice to the families of several different diverse communities and currently serves over 1000 scholars in grades K-4 and 5-8. A member of the BVP Rhode Island Mayoral Academies network, BVP's mission is to prepare every scholar for success in college and the world beyond.

My Project

All artists are inspired by the world around them. What better way to bring the world to the classroom than a vast array of books for scholars to reference. This piece of furniture will be able to display our art library appropriately and safely. So that all of our art books are at their finger tips.

All scholars have the opportunity to use books from our art library daily.

Right now, all of our wonderful books sit messily on a shelf that is almost too tall for scholars to reach. It is difficult to see the book titles and covers. It is hard to organize the books in this manner. This piece of furniture will make it so much easier for scholars to find, choose, read, and be inspired by the books that call to them.
