My Students

I teach 1st grade at an elementary school in a very transient area. Our school population has grown tremendously over the past few years and so has our diversity. We have students from all different backgrounds with a large percentage of students on free or reduced lunch.

Even though I have a high number of students in my classroom, I make sure I meet their needs on a daily basis.

Teaching 1st grade is so rewarding because the students are so excited and eager to learn new skills.

My Project

Since implementing alternate seating in my classroom a few years ago, I realized that I have less interruptions of students getting out of their seats. In my current classroom, I have several choices where students could be comfortable and cozy while learning or they are able to get their wiggles out while they are focusing on their tasks.

By adding the Nugget Comfort to my classroom, it will give the students another seating option to choose from.

This couch gives the students different options of how they want to sit. It allows them to be creative, which is something 6 & 7 year olds are amazing at! The possibilities are endless!
