My Students

I’m so excited! This year I am the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade mathematics teacher in a new charter school. We are bringing an old public school building back to life and making it a new hub of activity and learning!

Our school is in an urban area where nearly all students qualify for free lunches and free books.

They are a mixture of African American, Hispanic, and Caucasian students. As my students left this past Friday evening, my heart was full of love for each one of them, as I hugged them and wished them a wonderful weekend. In the past few months, we have become a family of learners.

We teachers want to make a difference in our students’ lives, help them set goals, and help them set a course for themselves that will provide them with viable choices in adulthood.

My Project

There's just something exciting about a whiteboard for doing and showing your work in Math class that the students don't get from using paper and pencil!

Currently, we don't have enough whiteboards for each student to use one.

With the purchase of these ten whiteboards and markers, each student will now be able to use a whiteboard to show their work. They will be excited to compare their work with their neighbor's work, and they will be proud to hold up their answers for teacher approval!

Your donation will allow ALL of my students to use a whiteboard, instead of students scrambling to get one!
