My students are from a community that is very rural. Most of my students do not have parents who are essential workers, and therefore, have lost their jobs during this time. We live in a community that getting internet to work properly is very difficult.
My students do not do well with change, and their worlds were rocked when school closed.
My students left school on a Friday, as normal, and then have not been able to return to school. Their lives have been turned upside down.
I am asking for resources including mobi numerical tile games, write on-wipe off number mats, dry erase markers. These materials will be used to give my students some normalcy. With all the changes that have happened in their lives over the past two months, they need something that is theirs. They have lost a lot of one on one instruction. I want them to be confident when returning to school in the fall.
These materials will let my students stay up on their skills.
They can continue with their learning. These items will give my students their own resources and hopefully so sort of ownership in their learning.
