I teach a third grade class in Louisiana. I have two sections of students and I teach math, science and social studies. The students in my class come from all walks of life. I am trying to create a classroom that has the necessary physical, emotional, social and academic tools for all to be successful.
I believe my students have the potential to take on the world and change their future.
I am reaching out to the community to help me provide for student needs in order to give them every opportunity to be successful.
My Project
With the high demands on instructional time and limited opportunities for movement, there has been an increase in hyperactivity in the classroom. Students begin to not only distract themselves, but also their peers.
I want to provide different seating options for students who may not learn the best sitting in a chair at a desk.
I am asking for stability balls, bouncy bands, wiggle stools, and balance discs (for use in the chair or for standing on). I am looking to provide flexible seating options, to allow my students to exert energy while focusing on their academics. Many of my students prefer to stand during lessons while other students find it difficult to remain still in their seats. Wobble stools and balance balls would benefit these students.
