Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Money, Money, Money! It seems that we always need more and there is never enough. Budget cuts have made getting the required materials needed to aid in the success of my students even harder.
My students are eager children ready to learn.
They know the importance of reading and what it can do for them. They come from middle class families, many of them serving in the military. In most cases both parents work and help at home is not always there. They are strong and not willing to give up.
My Project
Everyday I conduct small group reading sessions. While I am working with each group the rest of my students are doing centers. In centers they are working with materials that will help them become better readers. At this age attention span is small and boredom comes easily. I must have a variety of activities that will foster the learning of reading in my centers.
Literacy is one of the most important things for a person to learn.
Everything in our world is connected to reading. With your help, my students will make great steps in leaning how to read.
