Help me give my students the gift of reading! The 4 Weeks to Read curriculum is a curriculum that offers new, fun resources and ideas to teach letter names, letter sounds, and reading.
I am excited to be providing educational experiences to at-risk four and five year-old children in a free pre-Kindergarten classroom. These kiddos are creative, curious, and eager to learn. Many of our students are overcoming odds, as all of our students come from low-income households, and many come from traumatic backgrounds.
We strive to provide opportunities that our at-risk students may not otherwise have, or be able to enjoy.
We are eager to create life-long learners, through thoughtful instruction, and materials, both in our indoor and outdoor classrooms.
My Project
Our at-risk students are currently learning the letter names, and letter sounds; while some are beginning to recognize sight words and sound out new words!
We are requesting 4 Weeks to Read curriculum which offers new, fun resources and ideas to teach letter names, letter sounds, and reading.
These items will offer new, fun ways to introduce letter names, letter sounds, and sight words. It will also offer fun, new lessons to introduce reading to the children. We have also requested emergent reader books that include the children's favorite character, Pete the Cat!
Our at-risk students WANT to learn to read, and we want to offer them every opportunity to succeed. The 4 Weeks to Read Curriculum and the fun emergent readers will assist us, and more importantly - the Children the success they seek.
