Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students love to learn! They love to move and are excited to find out about our world. They are inquisitive and have many interests that continue to push their thinking. As a class, we work on encouraging each other to focus on our strengths which, in turn, builds confidence in all that we do.

About 53% of our students receive a free or reduced-price lunch.

We live in a suburb of Detroit. I have five special education students and others who are below grade level. In our classroom, we learn, laugh, and love!

My Project

Do you remember when you were just entering upper elementary school, third grade, and everything was so much harder? During the third grade year, students transition into independent learning. To develop independent learners, we create organizational binders that help them move to and from school with all of the essential items that they need. These binders are wonderful for the student's organization but they are hard to store in the classroom. For this reason, a binder shelf is needed for storage during the day.

The binder shelf will allow students to keep their items organized and in a safe manner in the classroom so that our physical classroom can function well.

Your donation will allow us to move smoothly around our classroom without much interference in the learning process.
