Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every morning I open my Kindergarten classroom door to welcome 20 amazing English language learners who need ample visual aids to be able to follow along with my lessons. Our classroom provides minimal wall space, so a whiteboard easel is desperately needed!
My students are the most enthusiastic, positive, and eager people I know.
They live in extremely low income areas and qualify for free breakfast and lunch daily. Despite their difficult situations at home, we work hard everyday so they can become true super scholars and one day achieve their dreams. We have extremely high academic goals to reach by the end of this school year, and I know that with their positive attitudes and curious minds we will reach these goals. Please help my students succeed this year by providing them access to visual learning with a whiteboard easel!
My Project
I am requesting a whiteboard easel for my English language learning students. Currently our classroom lacks space for me to visually present my lessons. While we have been making due with the resources we have, my ELL students struggle to comprehend my lessons without visual representation that a whiteboard easel will provide.
A whiteboard easel will allow me to visually present my key points and engage students with multiple visual aids and interactive activities. Whereas simple tasks such as following sequential directions are often a challenge for my ELL students, with use of a whiteboard easel they will be able to clearly understand my directions and follow them correctly without my aid. A whiteboard easel will make a world of difference to my ELL students and will help our entire class succeed this year.
As their first year in school, I want to make sure my 20 ELL students leave my classroom with a sense of outstanding growth and success.
A whiteboard easel will give my super scholars the chance to experience the type of significant academic and social gains that will pave the way for an incredible education for the rest of their lives.
