I absolutely love the energy and creativity that my ten- and eleven-year-old students bring into our classroom every single day. They are full of passion, they love to learn, and they love coming to school. My students come to school from all backgrounds, all cultures, and from all family situations.
My students are energetic fifth graders.
We become a family throughout the year, supporting each other through the good times and challenges, and help each other to master the standards while still making learning fun.
My Project
Throughout the school year, my fifth graders work really hard to learn our standards. Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies - every unit is focused on the material that they will need to know to build on their foundational knowledge. Learning needs to constantly be reviewed though for the information to stick, and that's where this project comes in.
I want my students to not only grow in their mastery, I want them to also GLOW with excitement when they learn it.
I am asking for the materials needed to transform my classroom into a room that will GLOW during our review sessions. Blacklights and light up balloons will create a space that students are eager to learn in. They will then use the tools of invisible ink, mini flashlights, glow sticks and glow tape to review standards and complete learning games. I'm so excited about this opportunity for my students, and I thank you for wanting to give this to them too.
