My students are eager to learn, explore, and problem solve. The more hands on the learning the more engaged and excited my kindergarten students are.
The kindergarteners in my class are ​diverse in their culture, educational background, and language.
Our diverse culture only adds the appeal of offering as many opportunities as possible for students to create representations of themselves. This is why my goal is to provide my students with ample and engaging opportunities to do so.
In addition, I look forward to sharing these opportunities with the other kindergarten classes at our school.
My Project
My kindergarteners are creative and talented little ones. I would like to provide them with multicultural paper, pencils, and crayons to make representations of themselves, their friends, and their families. They will use the supplies for self-portraits and self-directed​ art projects throughout the school year. I want to give them this opportunity so the diversity of our class is represented and students do not feel as though the only color they should use for skin is peach. We are lucky to have a vastly diverse culture in our community and this should shine through the artwork we produce.
