Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

We are working hard to create motivated, productive, and healthy members of society.
Our school is located in an urban environment.
Our students are low income and are primarily Hispanic with minimal understanding of cultures other than their own. We have a very close knit community for which we are looking to build knowledge of health and fitness. Currently there are very limited opportunities and variety outside of school for our students to participate in physical activity/sports programs.
My Project
The different activities we can do with this new equipment will help prepare students for a healthy lifestyle by giving them a solid foundation of how to maintain or improve their fitness levels. We have requested a variety of equipment so that students can learn about fitness and participate in non-traditional fitness games.
We are lacking resources to help diversify our instruction. We believe that if we can give our students a variety of activities they will become more excited about trying new things and this will give them the opportunity to find something they enjoy doing. If we are able to give our students a chance to try new things, they will build confidence and not be afraid of any challenges that they might face throughout life.
If we create individuals that are physically healthy through fitness and lifestyle choices, they will be mentally and socially healthy individuals that have character and confidence to be productive members of society .

This project is very important to our school because we believe it will be a stepping stone for our students for the rest of their lives.
If we have more resources to provide them with high quality physical education it will help change their lives. Helping them become physically fit is a top priority but it is also a priority to help build future leaders that can think critically and aren't afraid of challenges.
With this equipment we will be able to provide this to our students.
