My students need a Chromebook to have access to the internet to increase their math, reading, and writing skills.
Many of my students have limited access to technology. Using computers at school is often times a first for many of my students. Recently all student technology was removed from my classroom, because it was so old and outdated!
I am a second grade teacher to 22 motivated, enthusiastic learners!
My students love to learn and become very motivated with hands on learning. My students come from low income families where reading is not an important influence in their lives. My classroom is full of eager learners who find value in reading and learning. They face daily life challenges at home, so I want to provide the best possible learning experience for them here at school! They come to school happy and ready to learn each and every day. The teachers at my school work hard to foster a love for learning and doing what is best for our students. Reading is the key to success for our students and we want to instill that love of learning in every way possible.
The Chromebook would benefit my students by allowing them to independently explore and learn while using technology. I am requesting 1 Chromebook so that my students have access to technology. Students will be able to use the Chromebook at all times during the day. They will be able to work on math and reading skills, as well as typing. Through interactive websites students will be able to practice a multitude of concepts that will benefit them at their own levels.
Computers are being used to test students every year.
When my students are old enough to take tests on computers, it is too late for them to learn how to use a computer; research, type, etc. Students should be learning these skills as early as kindergarten. This classroom computer will be used at all times of the day so that my students can have as many possible opportunities to become comfortable using a computer.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
