My students need books about the constitution, we will be learning about U.S. history focusing on reading a variety of text to view it from multiple perspectives and understand the process.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
After 14 years of teaching elementary students, I will be moving to middle school to teach social studies to 7th and 8th graders, who have a thirst for learning, in a inner city school.
My class is made up of a diverse group of students, who come from a variety of backgrounds.
The majority of the scholars come from low-income households. My students are motivated and determine to learn. In order for me to foster learning, I must provide them with experiences with great literature in order to teach and help them understand the process in which we came to be under the law!
My Project
The books about the consititution that I am requesting for my scholars already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly how I will use this resource to enhance their learning and increase their knowledge about the constitution.
I will be using these books to incorporate cooperative learning strategies to reach not just one, but all my students.
Creating an environment where scholars can learn from each other, through reading. My scholars will begin to see themselves as true historians. We will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long learners. As the teacher, I have done extensive research and training in cooperative learning and I truly need your support to bring this project to life!
