My Students
Do you remember standing in front of judges at a rehearsal or science fair, worried that you were not prepared? That is why I have created this project. As my students start into We The people, they are building toward a competition where they prove their knowledge to a panel of judges.
I teach at a school where over 50% of my students are on free and reduced lunch where success is not always in their vocabulary. They come from diverse back grounds and many are 2nd generation citizens to this nation. Learning about this government and how it was founded is new and important to them. They have a desire to succeed.
My Project
As we only have one textbook to help our students get a full view of the constitution, these text books will help them get a 3D view of the constitution. They will be able to see how the constitution works in the real world. As they use each of these textbooks in unique and interesting ways in their research they are not only learning about their constitution but also about how to research and how to enjoy learning.
These are vital donations to our classroom to help my students succeed in their learning of the constitution and to really learn to love their constitution and government for how it protects and helps them. It will also teach them the skills of how to complete research on their own.
