This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our Charter School 6-12 is located right in downtown Pittsburgh! My 7th grade classes are a really fun group of kids. Many of them love reading various types of literature, and I have kids signing out books all the time!
I am constantly encouraging my students to read anything, and everything that they can.
I am a firm believer that reading leads to growth. The more you read, the more knowledge you gain.
We are very excited to be back in the classroom and checking out books from the classroom library.
My Project
My students really love to check out books this year. They are always taking them home for long weekends. We also have been super into our silent reading time. The only problem is that we all want to read the same series at the same time!
My students are really loving "classics" this year such as Goosebumps, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
We are also loving the Smile book series and are even starting to explore Shakespeare.
Please help me to get some fresh books into my classroom library, so that my students can read some new material that they deserve!
