My students work in a team-taught atmosphere and spend a ton of time together. We study Shakespeare (with costumes and props, the way it was meant to be read), read a lot of books, and are working to become excellent writers.
The students in my classroom see themselves on a learning continuum that always has endless space for improvement.
We work on projects and discussions together often, and we love to collaborate and share our talents. Some highlights of our year include reading Macbeth, writing research papers, and preparing United Nations-themed speeches about different countries in conflict.
My Project
Many studies have been done about the impact of fluorescent lighting, yet so many businesses and schools continue to use them due to costs. Many students have a hard time processing their learning when their brains are also trying to process the lighting. Due to fire code restrictions, there is nothing else we can do for our students except to give them new light covers.
Softening the artificial lights of the classroom, and making it more natural for our brains will help my students be able to focus more.
It will allow my students to be able to not have headaches as they work on class materials. The requested Skypanels help a student with a seizure disorder not have such triggers while in school. It will help my students feel more relaxed and not be so anxious about things. Just a simple lighting fix could make all the difference to many students.
