This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students love to create and explore new art techniques. They really look forward to attending art class each week. Our school is a place where we turn our mistakes into masterpieces.
We are a culturally diverse school.
We have a very welcoming atmosphere. As a Title I school we are a low income and high poverty/needs school. Our school is a neighborhood school that is located in a low socioeconomic zone of urban North Carolina. Each child at our school receives free breakfast and lunch through our nutrition program. In addition to breakfast and lunch, they also each also receive a healthy snack of fresh fruits or vegetables each day.
My Project
My students will get to combine (mix) the three primary colors to create the secondary colors and more. Art is like magic. They will use the Richeson color wheel templates as a guide. Using the Crayola model magic they will combine the primary colors, red, yellow and blue to create more colors. The display card will be a great addition to our art word wall.
These resources will give my students the hands-on experience of exploring the wonderful world of color.
They will have fun discovering what happens when colors are mixed together. Manipulating the model magic will be engaging and a wonderful sensory activity for my students. Your donation will certainly make their art class more colorful than it already is.
