Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I school near the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and a school where poverty is common among our children. They are still little humans wanting to learn. I was one of those students in elementary school. I love to my students because I get to mold them into what you inspire in them. I love to inspire them to want to learn and grow as students. I have been a teacher for 24 years and still enjoy the challenges my students bring to school. I enjoy when they go home and tell their parents about the projects we did in school. You build that personal relationship with them and help them understand that education is something no one can take away. I have 21 students, two who are special needs students. I have 11 boys and 9 girls. I have had many of their sibling and cousins in the past. I enjoy being part of their family history in the school world.
I always say that I have become the teacher that I am because of my students.
They are my the reason I come to work every day. It is inspiring to see them have success in learning.
My Project
Using these oniva portable flexible floor seats will help students use their center time more effectively. They will have the opportunity to learn how to use their flexible seats to move around and learn in every setting in the classroom. They will be able to move their seats to different centers during our language arts center time.
My students will enjoy taking charge in their learning.
Students have choices and I want them to learn in a great and comfortable environment. They will learn to make choices in their learning and be comfortable especially when using technology devices. Students comfort is an essential component in their daily school learning.
