Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are the best! They are very determined to achieve in the classroom and have fun doing so. My students come from a diverse community of English and Spanish speakers and are able to share their cultures with one another. My students live in a small, rural community. I often try to bring out real-world experiences in my math class to help them have new experiences and knowledge about the world around them, which also helps them learn the math concepts.
My students set goals and work to achieve them in the math classroom; they inspire me to be the best I can be and constantly encourage one another.
Students participate in a collaborative environment daily.
My Project
Students will benefit greatly from participating in the Stock Market Game! Students I have had in the past have absolutely loved participating in the game because of the sense of teamwork as well as competition. They enjoy getting to research different companies, several of which they have never heard of, to try to make the most money off of the stock market simulation. They genuinely enjoy the experience of learning about the world around them through finance.
I want to give my students I have this year the chance to experience this and to be able to grow in finance and mathematics education as well as be able to connect real world current events to math.
They will learn to work well in teams while growing in their education.
