My students need sports equipment they can use when they are done with homework, spelling and reading. They will then get activity time before parents pick them up.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have dynamic students that are in school from 8 am to 5:30 almost everyday. When they come to the program after school they are ready to do homework, spelling, and reading. We have time to play in the gym or go outside. They never complain about the basketballs, gaga pit ball, or footballs being in poor conditions. The gaga ball was taken from the playground so students find any other ball that they can use to play with. The basketballs are housed in a big basket and therefore lose much of the air in them. The students wait patently while they are inflated or find alternative ways to play.
My Project
Students will be able to organize teams and play together. We are groups from kindergarten through fifth grade. Using good working equipment after completing their homework, spelling and reading is a reward that I feel out rates screen time. "We Play Outside" is the school theme in the past. Students will be able to collaborate and organize games. Kids learn to cooperate with each other when setting up teams. They practice their compassion towards each other. Integrity is practiced when the basketball teas are set up. The students are from grades kindergarten through fifth, the older students have been showing responsibility, and respect when playing with the younger students. These are core values that they have learned and are practicing after school. If we receive the basketballs and the footballs it will allow them to practice their core values throughout their day not only during school hours.
