This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a very diverse group of 4th graders who show a deep love for learning as well as a deep determination to work hard to achieve success. They are the most excited and energetic group of learners I have ever come across. Not only are they committed to their learning, but they also show a deep understanding for one another and their differences.

Let me tell you a little bit about the 28 students that step foot into our classroom each and every day!

Of the 28 students I have, 5 have an identified special need, 7 need intervention services support, 4 receive speech services, and 7 are English language learners. All of my students, despite their differences, want all of their friends to succeed. Most the time in our classroom there is a hum of soft whispers because students are continuing to help one another throughout the day. It's a community of collaborating learners where everyone supports and encourages each other in everything we do.

We consider our classroom a TEAM, where teamwork is the key to success!

My Project

We currently don't have a PE teacher at our school and haven't had one for the past few years.

My goal is to expose my students to physical education by introducing them to traditional sports games.

Your donation will allow me to teach my students the skills to play games such as basketball, soccer, and badminton, as well as, perform simple exercise that gain strength and balance. While getting fit, my students will learn vital skills such as teamwork and sportsmanship. The benefits are both cognitive and physical. It is important to me that my students don't miss out on Physical Education at school.
