This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My school is in a low income area in Arkansas. I teach small groups of students in Kindergarten through third. These wonderful students, their classroom teachers, parents and I are working to bring their scores up to our State's basic level in the area of Literacy.
The students I work with are all at different levels of learning to read and write. Many do not have books at home to read. They need books. Books that can go home and be their own.
Your gift of an HP Officejet printer would allow me to download and print off levelized books for my students. We would be able to use the books in our classroom and then the students would be able to take them home to keep.
You could really make a difference for this group of students. I hope you will decide to give to this project so that my students will have the books they need both at school and at home.
