My Students

My students attend a Title I qualified school where the students achieve great success through hard work and determination. Most of my students come from low income and single parent homes who are struggling to make ends meet. My job, as an AP European History and World Religions teacher, is to create a fun, inclusive learning environment which helps each student to achieve their maximum potential. With your help, we can make a difference in the lives of all the diverse learners in my classroom and teach them a little bit about the world around them.

My Project

So many times, students are surrounded by people of other religions and cultures and do not know it. Others who are aware of it, shy away from opportunities to make friends or learn something new because they are uncomfortable. Many often rely on old stereotypes or what the mainstream media tells us about a particular people or religion. In my World Religions Class, we seek out to learn other religions and cultures, but we need help.

The books that we do have are falling apart and much of the information is not the latest available.

Therefore, leaving many with questions that desperately need to be answered. Through your donation and these set of books, we will be able to dive deeper into each religion and further our understanding of others.
