My students are a diverse group. They come from, and have traveled, all over the world with various views and life experiences. They are also diverse in their needs. I teach students in our Advanced Academics Program, general education students, ESOL, and students with special needs.
My 3rd grade students are talented, multilingual, funny, bright, and creative.
I am so lucky to be able to teach all of these students. Their diverse experiences and needs have opened my eyes as a new educator.
Kids now more than ever need to move, move, move! As students, they are also more reliant on alternative seating choices to help them succeed. In my classroom I currently have a carpet, a table, pillows, a book nook, an area to work while standing, and stools.
Kids like to lean on their chairs or stools, which can often end with broken seating.
As a result of leaning and tilting, I have had IKEA stools break, and wooden stools whose seats separate from their legs. Kore Wobble Chairs will enable my students to maintain the movement they crave without falling or breaking one of their alternative seating choices. They will be safer, better able to focus on their work, and be more likely to succeed! Plus, I won't have to constantly remind them not to lean :)
