My students need trays to work on while they sit on the floor. They need a hard surface to put their Chromebooks on so they can work comfortably wherever they choose around the classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a Title 1 school in a high need area. Most of the elementary students that attend our school are homeless, live in trailers, motels, with family, or in government housing. We work hard to make the school a safe and secure place for them. These are smart, kind, and hardworking students who are overcoming many challenges outside of school and are trying to soar in their classrooms. They deserve the best to accomplish their goals and dreams.
My Project
We have four trays now that 30 children are sharing. We need more trays so more students can choose where they would like to sit around the room. The need the trays so they can focus on their work not juggling all their work on their lap.
Right now my students are trying to find any hard surface that will work- they need resources I do not have.
They need trays and pads to sit on while working on the floor. Many of my students like to move away from others to concentrate on their work. Others like to sit with a group of peers to collaborative. These students choose the floor but lack the table tops to put their work on. Their laps are not cutting it and I have a limited amount of trays. Any donation would be appreciated thank you!!
