This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are an inner city school facing budget cuts. My students are from low income families. The students in my first grade class are eager to learn but get distracted with the other burdens in their lives. Many days, they are just happy to sit quietly in the classroom. I want to provide them with creative and colorful lessons to give them a reason to want to be involved. The 3Doodler will actively engage my students to create their own learning. They can make models of their learning.
My Project
First graders are learning the foundations of reading and writing. Pencils, dry erase markers and colored pencils are essential materials to this learning. They can write draw and doodle to help with their learning. Pencils are the go to writing material. Dry erase markers are the perfect way to do drill work. Dry erase boards can be used over and over with these markers. Colored pencils are great for adding details in writing and illustrating. Students love the many uses. These materials will add to out day to day class work. First graders need to write to express themselves.
