Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a mix of Spanish language learners and English language learners in a dual language class at a Title 1 school. These students learn from each other and work diligently in the classroom to learn both languages. They come in everyday eager and ready to learn.
Several of my students are gifted students who thrive on new knowledge and exciting educational projects.
Due to lack of funds we are very limited in our technology. We have a few computers in our classroom, but our kids are expected to put in minutes on required district programs. These required programs limit our use of our computers for creative technology tool exploration and innovative projects.
My Project
Working in an elementary classroom can be demanding in many ways. Expecting your students to sit still and work is challenging. Trying to work and concentrate can be difficult for many without the freedom to move around.
Flexible seating can allow some students the ability to stay on task and get their work completed.
Giving kids the tools they need to concentrate and learn will make a big difference in their day at school. The bouncy balls and stools will help provide students the flexibility they need to move about and still stay on task and get their work completed.
