My students come from high poverty backgrounds but are not defined by their economic status. They are curious individuals who need encouragement, support and plenty of room to move around. These active learners are at a critical juncture in their schooling as they begin to take grade level standardized tests.
I aim to provide my students with not only the knowledge they need to be successful but the opporunity to shine and not be defined by the numbers on a page, but instead by the amazing kids they are.
We work hard and play hard in our third grade classroom from the first day until the last.
My Project
Clipboards and whiteboards will make a huge difference to my active learners. They will allow us to do math inside or outside the classroom. We can work in small groups around the room and move from class to class even!
In order to learn at our best my students need clipboards and whiteboards that allow them to engage with the material in different environments.
I want to be able to encourage my students to use their problem solving and cooperative learning skills across the curriculum. We need to move around and activate the kinethetic parts of our brains and these tools will be a key part of that learning.
