Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year I have a 2nd and 3rd grade combo. My students come from a low socio and economic background. They all receive free meals and we are a 1 to 1 iPad school. We are part of the inner city of Compton.
The students want to learn and put forth their best efforts, despite problems that are faced at home and in their community.
Some of the students are more than a year below their grade level. The iPads help with my rotations throughout the whole day. The programs and apps are there to help close the achievement gap that these kids have. With the help of technology, myself, and you please help me give these students the chance to better their lives.
My Project
My students and I are requesting a class set of headphones. We are a 1 to 1 iPad school. We do not have working headphones and need them desperately. We have spent money on the basic headphones found in discount stores but they only last so long.
We have many wonderful online programs that the students use but without headphones completing the assigned tasks have become difficult to accomplish.
The programs are individualized for each student and they are all engaged on different tasks at different times.
They need to be supported as best as they can in order for them to be at grade level and beyond. Help me help them. Thank you.
