My students need an LCD projector to be exposed to new content and procedures in a highly efficient and advanced manner, and to stay current with the latest technology.
My students face many challenges in their lives, from instability in their family relationships to insecurity in their financial safety. They appreciate and value every resource that exists in the classroom, especially technology.
Our class is made up of vibrant young leaders who are all entering their final year of high school.
This is a crucial opportunity for them to shape their personalities, and many are finding their voices and forming their political beliefs that will last their lifetimes.
One student hopes to work in the medical field, another an artist, a lawyer, and so on. They have high expectations for themselves, yet they lack the basic resources that can catapult them forward.
My Project
Hopefully, this is just the first of many project donations we will be requesting. We are starting off with an LCD projector, a standard item in any suburban classroom but a hard-to-find item in our urban district.
With a projector as our starting point, we can begin to share ideas about a powerpoint presentation, an internet website, or simple classroom statistics such as class grade average or attendance that can be projected straight from the computer.
In addition, students can design, create and present their own powerpoint slides. They can enhance their public speaking skills to the level that it needs to be in this modern age.
Your donation will not be taken for granted.
My students are all aware of this donation process and are deeply grateful for the generosity they will receive. It is not just the projector that will make the difference, but it will also be the act of giving that the students will learn from and hopefully emulate someday, when they are in a position to give back.
