This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have some of the greatest students in the St. Louis area. My students are so great because even though they come from all different backgrounds, they work together so well. I know that when they go home they face challenges that children should not face. I want to make sure that when they enter my classroom they have only the best learning experience.
My students may have many difficulties in their lives, but getting a high quality education in my classroom will never be one.
My Project
Keeping organized is a challenge for all of us, but especially for sixth graders. This is their first year without their own personal desk that they keep all their supplies in. They need to carry their supplies with them, so organization is key.
They've been taught many different ways to keep organized, and it is my job to get us on the same page.
I want to teach my students how to keep a well organized binder. For my class we have a class notebook, a curriculum workbook, and their daily points sheet.
It may not seem like a lot to keep organized, but when you are new to this experience it can be a challenge. So, a binder really helps my students to keep everything organized.
