We NEED to Build Math Fact Fluency

Help me give my students a way to improve their multiplication and division fact fluency.

My Students

The culture of our school is tightly woven with cultural and ethnic diversity, and it is a beautiful place to be! The children have a desire to learn no matter---or, perhaps, because of---the circumstances from which they come.

Many students at my school have recently immigrated from other countries, some with only the clothes on their back.

Diversity is defined as the state of having people who are different races or who have different cultures in a group or organization. "Diverse" is the word that best describes my school.

Our students come from over 30 different nations, and many of them have little or nothing when they arrive at our doors. Our families have a very high rate of poverty with over 85% living below the poverty line. We also have some of the highest taxed real estate in the city in our neighborhood, and, yes, the children who live in those houses also attend our school.

Our motto is "From across the street and around the world," and it truly describes us.

My Project

My students are half way through fifth grade and they aren't fluent with their multiplication and division facts. It is imperative that they learn these facts before they go to sixth grade. I have talked to the sixth grade teachers who receive our fifth graders and they all say this is one thing they HAVE to know.

Mathematics gives us hope that every problem has a solution.

My students need to have another way to learn their math facts. This kit is highly recommended, the games in it are super fun and the kids really enjoy them. If they enjoy them they will want to learn-a win-win.
