This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school in North Carolina. All of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Despite the poverty, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to learn all they can and be successful at what they are learning.
Our school serves students in grades 6-8 and provides rigorous academics, great teachers, and a safe learning environment.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking forward to providing them with experiences beyond their imagination in the classroom.
At our school we have a range of students with disabilities, students who do not speak or understand the English language, are homeless, and students who do not have warm coats to wear to school.
My Project
All my students enjoy coming to school each day. To make this happen students need to be healthy and in a clean environment. I teach twelve different sections in a computer lab with approximately 30 students per section. I need disinfecting supplies, tissues and hand sanitizer to make sure students do not spread germs and to keep everyone healthy. Also, when students collaborate with each other they tend to cough and most students don't cover their mouth.
Help me to give my students a clean healthy environment.
This way students would not have to worry about spreading germs and getting sick.
