Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
On the first day of school most students come to class looking all fresh, well-rested and vibrant. Most kindergarten students have a brand new uniform, shoes, book bag, and school supplies. This is not the case for my students.
My students live in a neighborhood that does not allow them to be kids.
They have hard lives and most of the time are "adulting" way too young. They come to their first day of school tired and hoping for change. Most of them come to school without ever have laid their hands on a computer before.
My Project
Having this Mac Book Pro will make a major impact on my students’ daily learning. Most of my students come from homes that do not have computers and having a lap top in the classroom that works will be an awesome experience for them. They will be able to create and complete STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) projects. They will be able to read leveled books, listen to books, listen to music, research, create power points, and play math games on this new piece of technology. Most of all they will be able to experience new technology in the classroom because they can’t at home. This lap top will be used all day everyday by the students in all subject areas. It will be an assset to our classroom and will help raise the level of student engagement throughout our day.
