My students are overall a BRILLIANT group! We have some learning difficulties, but everyone has a great attitude and wants to improve and be the best students they can be.
We live in a rural area and my students love to learn about different people and areas through reading!
My students come from many different backgrounds but they need more engaging literature. If I could describe my students in 5 words they would be creative, empathetic, inventive, courageous and kind. In my 12 years of teaching, I have never had a group quite like this one.
My Project
I teach in a small rural area. The majority of our students come from low income families. The families send in basic supplies at the beginning of the year but by the middle of the year we are out or running out of basics. So far this year I have already purchased over $50 in just pencils.
We expect our students to do amazing work, when they lack the necessities like crayons, scissors, and glue to do their work.
My students love hands on learning through interactive notebooks, projects, and labs but when we do not have the supplies needed
it makes this very difficult. With your help I can set my students up for success.
